Delivering an Outstanding Guest Experience – Gainbridge Fieldhouse (Home of the Indiana Pacers)

Registered attendees will walk as a group from the Indiana Convention Center (10 minute walk).  Group will gather at the Indiana Convention Center.

The Pacers Sports & Entertainment staff and Gainbridge Fieldhouse are industry leaders in developing the guest experience and are highly ranked in the NBA for overall guest satisfaction. Their award winning team will share best practices.

  • Tour of Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever (4 groups of 25)

  • Panel discussion with Pacers Sports & Entertainment Staff on delivering an outstanding guest experience

  • The discussion will also include how the Pacers operate a multi-use facility that hosts a variety of events every year

What do you do the rest of the year?  Is that a full-time job?  - Indiana State Fair

We’ve all been asked these questions at some point.  Join us at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center to learn how our team utilizes the campus and facilities ranging in size from 2,000 square feet to nearly 150,000 square feet, and more than one million square feet of space in total, to host an average of 400 non-Fair events every year.  Join us for a unique experience with a behind-the-scenes tour of our campus and facilities, and a workshop with members of our team to learn how we make it happen.  The workshop will also include a panel discussion with event promoters/producers to learn about their needs and expectations when hosting events at our facility.  We will also be joined by the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex to learn how a county fairgrounds in Indiana has built a thriving non-fair event business.

Workshop topics will include:     

  • The Sales Process

  • Event Management

  • Partners & Vendors

  • Staffing & Organizational Structure

  • Master Planning & Facility Maintenance

  • Safety & Security

  • Guest Experience

Delivering Impactful Ag Education Programs, a Hands-on Experience! – Indiana State Fair

As you step off the bus you will experience the look and feel of year-round and fair education deliverables at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  You’ll get a first-hand look into the logistics, experiences, and curriculum utilized to reach over 100,000 students and families annually.  This tour will be delivered in the same manner as our field trips, by rotating participants through four interactive stations.  At these stations, you will:

  • Connect with the Pig Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms to experience aspects of a virtual field trip

  • Experience our Farm to Pizza on-site field trip while making a pizza

  • Explore the award-winning Glass Barn, and participate in a live farmer chat

  • Conduct a DNA extraction experiment using Soybeans to learn the science of GMOs.

At every stop, you will learn about the curriculum and tools utilized to deliver these outstanding Ag Education experiences. Each participant will leave with a tool kit of materials and ideas that can easily be replicated or scaled to fit your needs.  To close out the experience, we’ll bring everyone together for a 30-minute session to recap and discuss the future.

Exhibits from Idea to Opening Day – Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

The Children’s Museum Exhibits and Marketing Team will share how exhibitions for families come to fruition- from the spark of an idea to opening day and beyond. Learn about our process to incorporate research, expertise from broad and diverse resources, innovation, family learning frameworks, fabrication, prototyping, and much more. Following the presentation come along for a tour of the Museum, which will include a behind-the-scenes look at our exhibit fabrication workshop, Paleontology Lab, and more! Come along and discover why TIME for Kids, USA Today, and TripAdvisor have ranked The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis among the nation’s best places for indoor and outdoor family fun and learning!

Wednesday, November 30th, 8:30 am – 12:00 noon

Massive Event Production – Indianapolis Motor Speedway

For more than 100 years, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been home to the iconic Indianapolis 500 – the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” and the largest single-day sporting event in the world.  The team at the Speedway will discuss everything that goes in to planning and implementing an event of this size and share best practices.  The experience will include:

  • Panel Workshop in Media Center covering logistics, safety, concessions, parking, guest experience, demographics and more

  • Buses Around the Track & “Kissing the Bricks” – the famed yard of bricks at the start/finish line (Weather Permitting)
